Matthew 5:16 ************** What is Teenlight.org? Teenlight.org is the 150+ page website for teen writers. Our teen 2 teen Christian arts sites is meant to encourage teens and prepare them for ministry through the arts. Through our weekly e-zines, web site, bi-monthly magazines and bi-annual teen 2 teen devotionals, we enable them to reach out to other teens while building their own skills and self esteem.
This positive peer pressure is a proven tool for saving today's teens from drugs, alcohol, risky behavior, and suicide. Teen service groups like ours are proven to build church memberships, as well.
We're published by We-eee! Writers' Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to Christian writers of all ages.
Who works on it and what do they do? Our journalists are skilled, Christian teens. All of our articles, devotions, essays, poems and photojournalism are created by teens. They write only of their own life. Their art forms are varied, including computer genius and come together to form a talented "Body" of Christ.
Who are your mentors? Our teens range in age from 12 up, but those aged 18-22 serve as mentors. These Christian adults have "made it through" the exhausting turmoil of middle and high school. They are now off to college or work. Their goal is to share what they've learned in a constructive, "non-preachy" way.
How did it come to be? Teen Light actually began in a classroom. My Fayetteville Christian (Fayetteville, NC) journalism class was unhappy with the devotions we read. Many were written by adults far past their teens and filled with "Thou shalt nots" and much finger-wagging.
The language was hard for all of us to hear - as if we were less than those speaking. We prayed and - over two years - the teens wrote
